North York, Ontario
Sept 14, 2016

The North York Renegades are off to a hot start to the 2016-17 season. The first game of the year was a 5-2 victory  over the Toronto Predators. The new look Renegades are undoubtedly a much improved squad from last year.

A large core of returning players comprises the bulk of this year's roster.

Leading that pack is second year player Connor Kearney. Kearney picked up right where he left off last season, scoring three points and two goals in his first game. Also finding the back of the net included Little, Suchy and Georgopoulos in the first game.

It was an emotional come from behind victory. Going into the third, the Renegades were down 2-1. Some stellar special team play saw NY pocket 4 goals in the third period to secure the victory.

This weekend the team travels to Komoka Saturday before returning home for this year's home opener Monday, Sept 19th. Expansion club Tillsonburg Hurricanes will be making their first visit to take on the Renegades. Puck drop 7:45pm.
