The North York Renegades and the first place Niagara Whalers went to overtime this past weekend. The Niagara Whalers have been steam rolling the GMHL this season, and especially since the Christmas break. The Renegades were the first team to give them a close match in months.

It was a huge momentum game for the Renegades. To be able to play the Whalers, who are considered the top seed possibly in the entire league, in that close a match instilled a huge confidence boost heading into the stretch.

It was a even game across the board. Shots were even with regular time extremly tense.

The Renegades even scored a goal in the final minute of play to send it to OT.

Scoring for the Renegades included: Barnes (2), Mannarn and Zilak.

The boys will carry this good energy into the final three games of the year against Tottenham, Oshawa and the Predators.
