The North York Renegades have a second round birth in the 2017 Russell Cup Playoffs within reach. The Renegades are holding a 2-1 lead in the best of five series against the London Lakers in the first round of playoffs.

It has been a tight, hard fought battle. NY came out hot, winning Games #1 and #2. The resistant Lakers were able to stay alive winning Game #3 this week.

The Renegades are confident in being able to close out this series Saturday, Feb 25 in London. If the Lakers can hold on again, then Game #5 returns to Renegades home ice.

Deadline pick up Dalton Barnes has been North Yorks best offensive producer. In the 3 games the former 100 point player has posed 7 points (4g, 3a).

Simone Pilon has been solid between the pipes. Through all three starts, Pilon has posted a .927 save%, giving the Renegades an opportunity to win every night.

North York has put themselves in a favourable position heading into the weekend, but with nothing for certain yet, the boys will have to come ready to close out the series and earn the franchise's first ever second round birth
