SHUT OUT RIVERKINGS IN VICTORY

Coming off a 4 – 3 overtime win 24 hours earlier in London over the Lakers, the (12 – 1) Renegades were back in action at Canlan Ice Sports York in North York against the (5 – 6 – 3) Oshawa River Kings in Greater Metro Hockey League action.

North York’s Marco Luciani sank the first goal of the game 1:15 into the first with a pass from Mark Mannarn on a North York power play to give the hosts a 1 – 0 lead. Lucas Bascio finds Raffaele Maietta who sinks North York’s second of the contest 7:29 into the first to bring the lead to 2 – 0. Only 18 seconds into the middle stanza and on a Renegade power play, Patrik Zilak adds the lead with helpers from Joe Taylor and Bascio. Scoring his second of the game at 4:16 of the period was North York’s Maietta with Taylor and Bascio drawing their second assists on the evening. Maietta and Taylor find Zilak at 7:49 of the second to bring the Renegades lead to 5 – 0.

Zackary Borges scores North York’s fifth of the game at 5:54 of the final period with Liam Little and Mannarn adding the contributors. Two more goals were scored by the Renegades at 14:02 and 14:59 with David Maikawa and Marcus Drinovac adding one each respectively to give North York their 13th win over the 2016 – 2017 season. North York goaltender Simone Pilon, Adrian Bertie, Jesse Georgoploulos and Little added the assists on the final two goals.

Netminder Pilon turned 35 shots in the Renegades 8 – 0 shutout win over the River Kings in North York.

The Lincoln Mavericks will be the Renegades next opponents when North York heads to Beamsville on November 4th in a 7:05 p.m puck drop.
